This talk will focus on the likely trajectory of US-India ties in the second Trump administration. It will take stock of the relationship over the administration’s first nine months and highlight likely areas of cooperation along with challenges moving forward. It will also identify some factors that could impact the trajectory of the relationship over the next few years.
Michael D. Kugelman is a leading specialist on South Asia, with expertise on India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. He was founding director of the South Asia Institute at the Wilson Center from 2022 to 2025, and he managed the Center’s South Asia portfolio from 2007 to 2025.
