Adventures in Happiness

Research on factors that contribute to lifelong happiness have been extensively studied in the last 30 years. The first session will review the history of happiness studies and the many promoted routes to happiness that have been shown to be ineffective. The second session will review the range of actions/activities for which there is strong research-based support in promoting lifelong happiness and life satisfaction. Jerry Miller is an an emeritus faculty member in the UM Department of Psychology where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses for over four decades. He has lectured widely as part of his desire to share empirical insights from psychology with a wide range of adults.
